Office of Planning
The Office of Planning assists the bishop in formulating diocesan long-range and strategic pastoral plans, goals and objectives and works with parishes and diocesan offices to implement diocesan planning processes.
As part of this focus, this office works with:
- Assisting parishes with their long-range and strategic planning processes

Merging parishes – Working with scheduled parishes to complete all merge tasks.

Linking and partnering parishes – Facilitate the planning aspects of parish life as begun in the Guided by the Spirit and Trusting in the Spirit processes

Supporting and facilitating those leadership aspects of parish life – pastoral and finance councils, financial and statistical processes, council training

Supporting the Diocesan Planning & Implementation Commission (PIC) in their activities to oversee the strategic and pastoral planning of the parishes

Supporting Cluster Planning Teams – communication through newsletters and Catholic Herald articles as well as meetings to assist their planning efforts

Conversions, training, and support for parishes to use
- ParishSOFT – creating a conversion schedule for merging parishes and eventually non-merging parishes to convert; creating Standard Operating Procedures, providing remote and onsite training;
- QuickBooks –creating QuickBooks Standard Operating Procedures; providing remote and onsite training
