Quiet in the Pines

An annual retreat for catechetical leaders in the Diocese of Madison

Parish catechetical leaders, whether full or part time, paid or volunteer, are invited to join the staff of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis for the annual “Quiet in the Pines” retreat being held Dec 4-5 at Durward's Glen near Baraboo Wisconsin.

As is often said, "We can't give what we don't have." As we seek to lead others to a life-changing relationship with the person of Jesus Christ, we must constantly guard and nurture our own relationship with him. Join us in stepping out of our busy routines to pursue the "one thing necessary."

This year's retreat master is yet to be determined, but this is designed to be a laid-back time to relax with Christ and with each other... nothing too intense.

To help keep costs down, Thursday night's dinner will be pot-luck. Please bring a dish as follows, according to the first letter of your last name. Drinks (including beer and wine) will be provided by the OEC.

Cost for the retreat is $50
(Includes room, drinks, breakfast, lunch, and stipends.)

Thursday	December 4
noon	Open for early arrivals (folks who want to walk around, read by fireplace, etc.)
2:30	Registration begins (finding rooms, etc.)
3:00	Published start time -- socializing and introductions (snacks)
3:30	First Meditation
4:00	Quiet time for reflection and prayer (walking around grounds, chapel)
5:00	Mass
5:45	Dinner (pot-luck)
7:00	Second Meditation
7:30	Exposition in chapel (prayer and song) Confessions available (throughout evening)
8:30	Wine, beer and snacks available - socializing
10:00	Group rosary in chapel



Friday	December 5
8:30	Mass
9:15	Breakfast (cooked by OEC staff)
10:00	Third Meditation
10:30	Quiet time for reflection and prayer (and break)
11:00	Fourth Meditation
11:30	Quiet time for reflection and prayer
12:00	Lunch and socialization
1:15	Wrap-up; Evaluations and feedback; Cleanup and good-byes
2:00	Depart
