Spiritual Formation Homework
Pursuing an Ever Deeper Spiritual Transformation:
Hopefully you have settled into a routine with the "spriitaul homework" from past sessions: Morning Offering; Reading and meditating upon Scripture 20 minutes at least 3 times a week; Examination of Conscience at the close of the day. You should also have a working "personal ideal" and a familiarity with the process of theological reflection for use in understanding and addressing significant issues in your life. Continue to strengthen your use of these life-transforming tools during Lent. Additionally, during the remainder of Lent, take up the practice (if you do not already) of praying a Rosary at least three times per week (daily if you can!)
Follow-Up to Today's Class:
Write a one-page essay responding to a friend who might say, "A bunch of celibate old men have no business telling me what I can or can't do in the bedroom. The Catholic Church needs to get with the times and change its stance on contraception."
In Preparatin for Next Month's Class:
Read section one of Part Three of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (paragraphs 1699-051; about 70 pages) relating to the moral law.
