The website is intended to assist those who are using the Boy Scouting and Girl Scouting programs as Catholic youth ministry in the Diocese of Madison, WI. We invite you to become a DMCCS member and/or volunteer to assit the DMCCS our programs and activities.

Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to serve members of Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs in the growth of their Catholic faith. The DMCCS sees as our vision the constructive use of the Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs as a viable form of youth ministry within our Diocese.
Where We Serve
The DMCCS serves Catholic Scouting in the following Wisconsin counties: Columbia, Dane, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Marquette, Rock, and Sauk. Diocesan map
OUR PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES Back to top
The DMCCS operates several programs and activities for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and adult leaders, including:
- the Roman Catholic religious emblems programs for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers
- the Catholic religious recognitions programs for Girl Scounts
- the Catholic religious emblems and recognitions programs for adults
- other Catholic religious awards programs to encourage Catholic Scouts and adults in their faith
- religious activities and events for Catholic Scouts and adults throughout the year
- training programs for Scouts and adult Scout leaders

The DMCCS reports to the Bishop and consists of:
- members
- Executive Board (consisting of the officers of the DMCCS) and
- standing and special committees organization chart governing documents
Executive Board
The DMCCS Executive Board consists of two officers appointed by the Bishop (the Diocesan Chaplain and a Youth Ministry Advisor) and nine elected officers: a Co-Chair (a Chair for Boy Scouting and a Chair for Girl Scouting) a Secretary, a Treasurer, and the Chairs of the following committees:

- Vocations Committee

Much of the day-to-day work of the DMCCS is performed by the following DMCCS standing committees:

DMCCS special committees include the Nominating Committee and the Bylaws Committee.
Membership
The membership elects the nine elected officers and conducts other DMCCS business at an Annual Membership Meeting in June of each year. Special membership meetings may be held at other times, as needed. Membership Application

Relationship with the GSUSA and BSA
The DMCCS is separate from the national Girl Scouts of the United States of America (GSUSA), the national Boy Scouts of America (BSA), their councils, and their Scouting units. However, the DMCCS cooperates with them to promote Scouting to girls, boys, young women, and young men within the boundaries of the Diocese
Affiliations with National Catholic Organizations Involved with Catholic Youth
The DMCCS is associated with:
- the National Catholic Committee on Girl Scouts and Camp Fire (NCCGSCF), a management committee of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM); and
- the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS), a church committee of concerned Catholic laity and clergy which is advisory to the BSA.
The DMCCS operates the programs of these national Catholic Scouting organizations in the Diocese.
HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT CATHOLIC SCOUTING Back to top
You can support Catholic Scouting and the work of the DMCCS the following ways:
- Pray for Catholic Scouts, Catholic adult Scout leaders and others working with Catholic Scouts, Scouting units (i.e., Girl Scout Troops, Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Varsity Teams, and Venture Crews), and other Scouting organizations.
- Publicly promote the vision, mission, and values of the DMCCS to Catholic parishes and other Catholic ogranizations in the Diocese, to Catholic laity and clergy in the Diocese, and to the general public.
- Encourage Catholic youth to join in a Scouting unit that is located within the counties that comprise the Diocese of Madison.
- Encourage and support Catholic Scouts, Catholic adult Scout leaders, and Catholic Scouting units.
- Volunteer to assist a Scouting unit or become a registered adult leader in a Scouting unit.
- Volunteer to help promote the programs and activities of the DMCCS.
- Become a member of the DMCCS.
