Eucharistic Adoration means worship of the Blessed Sacrament outside of Mass, usually either reserved in a tabernacle or exposed to view in a monstrance.
He [Bishop Morlino] said, “We can look at the Eucharist as food in three ways: as the food of reverence, by experiencing wonder and awe in God's presence; as the food of truth, by believing in everything in the Catechism of the Catholic Church when we receive Communion; and as the food of Adoration, by participating in Eucharistic Adoration as the ‘Mass in meditation’."
- quote from The Madison Catholic Herald, June 14, 2007 edition
Eucharistic Adorers are students, working people, retired people, whole families with children, people of many different national origins, people deeply steeped in the life of prayer, and sometimes even people who aren't sure they believe, but feel a thirst to know God.
Eucharistic Adoration is celebrated across the Diocese of Madison throughout the week as well as perpetually in Fennimore at St. Mary’s Church and in Madison at Holy Redeemer Church. Click here to find Adoration times and places.
