  • Thursday, December 8, 2011 (The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception) is a holy day of obligation.
  • Sunday, December 25, 2011 (The Solemnity of Christmas).
  • Friday, December 30, 2011 (The Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph). Since there is no Sunday between Christmas and January 1, Holy Family is celebrated on this day.
  • Sunday, January 1, 2012 (The Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God).
  • Sunday January 8, 2012 (The Solemnity of the Epiphany)
  • Monday, January 9, 2012 (The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord). Since Epiphany falls after January 6, the Baptism of the Lord is celebrated on this day.
  • Sunday, January 15, 2012 (The Second Sunday in Ordinary Time).
  • Monday, January 23, 2012 (National Day of Penance for Violations to the Dignity of the Human Person). A national day of penance is held each year marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision (1973).  When January 22 is a Sunday, it is transferred to Monday.   • Wednesday, February 22, 2012 (Ash Wednesday). 
  • Sunday, February 26, 2012 (First Sunday of Lent). The Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion will be celebrated at Saint John the Baptist Parish in Waunakee at 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 1, 2012 (Palm Sunday). 
  • Tuesday, April 3, 2012 (Tuesday of Holy Week). The Chrism Mass will be celebrated at Saint Maria Goretti Parish in Madison at 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 5-8, 2012 (The Easter Triduum). Sunset on Saturday, April 7 is at 7:33 p.m. in Madison. The Vigil should not begin until darkness falls. At the Cathedral Parish, Bishop Morlino will celebrate the Vigil at 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 20, 2012. The Ascension of the Lord is observed on the Seventh Sunday of Easter in the province of Wisconsin.
  • Friday, May 25, 2012 Ordination of Deacons (Transitional) at the Bishop O’Connor Catholic Pastoral Center at 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 27, 2012 (The Solemnity of Pentecost).
  • Sunday, June 3, 2012 (The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity).
  • Sunday, June 10, 2012 (The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ).
  • Friday, June 29, 2012 Ordination to the Priesthood at Saint Maria Goretti Parish in Madison at 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 15, 2012 (The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary) is a holy day of obligation.
  • Thursday, November 1, 2012 (The Solemnity of All Saints) is a holy day of obligation.
  • Sunday, November 25, 2012 (The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King).
