The selection of Paul Ryan, a Janesville, WI native, as a vice-presidential candidate in this year’s presidential election has raised a number of very important questions, for many locally as well as around the country. While the Diocese of Madison is not in a position to address Congressman Ryan’s (or any other candidate’s) specific policies or platform, let alone make political endorsements or judgements, we can and will answer many questions regarding the principles at stake in this year’s election. It is your responsibility to take those principles, enlightened by both faith and reason, into the voting booth this November. May God guide and bless our great country.
