| Global Solidarity Week 2010 - Sunday, January 24, 2010Celebrate Global Solidarity Week in your Parish!
In our part of the world, we are blessed beyond measure. We have opportunities to pray, to learn, to work, to feast! But hand in hand with this, we need to recognize that many other parts of the globe do not have these same opportunities. Global Solidarity Week (Feb. 6-14, 2010) provides opportunities to grow in solidarity with our brothers and sisters around the world.
“Solidarity is not a feeling of vague compassion or shallow distress at the misfortunes of so many people, both near and far. On the contrary, it is a firm and persevering determination to commit oneself to the common good….” JPII
A packet to help you and your parish celebrate global solidarity is available at www.madisondiocese.org under the "Outreach" menu.
