A Place with Three Names...

The CMC operates through the existing agencies of St. Martin House and the Gaudalupe Center.  Through these programs, the CMC strives to meet the pastoral, educational, and social needs of the community.  The Center was rebuilt in 2002 in the same location that it has been since 1946.   Today, clients and volunteers will refer to the building as "St. Martin House," "Centro Guadalupano", or the "Catholic Multicultural Center."  In reality, all of these names refer to the same place in which everyone is welcome.  Our Mission is to try and make the community a better place, one person at a time.

St. Martin House

St. Martin House was formed in 1946 under the name "Blessed Martin House."  Martin de Porres, an interracial Peruvian Domincan brother, has since been canonized so we updated our name.  Martin worked for social justice and to serve the needs of the poor.  Today, St. Martin House continues the work that our patron Saint started in the 17th century.

Gaudalupe Center

The Gaudalupe Center was formed in 1977 to serve the needs of the ever-growing population of Hispanics and Latinos in our local community.  This outreach was named for Our Lady of Gaudalupe, the patron Saint of the Americas and an imporant figure to a majority of the Spanish-Speaking population.  The Gaudalupe Center is a great resource for Hispanics and Latinos.
