The Donkey Project

To promote food security, one of the major outreaches to our sister diocese in Navrongo-Bolgatanga, Ghana is the Donkey Project.  Money has been raised to purchase 50 donkeys, harnesses and carts and special plows.  Training has been provided to 50 families in the care of donkeys so that new farming practices can be used to raise soybeans.  The soybeans are a good source of nutrition and growing soybeans helps improve the soil.  Thanks to many local parish groups who have participated in our fair trade chocolate sale, we are raising more funds to further this project.
