Project Rachel Priests' Training Day

September 11th and October 7th

A morning session will be offered for priests who have never trained in Project Rachel. We will also host a refresher class in the afternoon to bring the latest research to those who have trained in the past. Learn the words of invitation, understanding and openess to help families heal from abortion. September training will be held in Platteville and October training will be held in Pewaukee. Project Rachel

Project Rachel is the abortion healing outreach of the Catholic Church begun in the United States in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1984. It is an outreach of the Church with a central telphone number where someone is ready to listen to your story and will help you find someone who will journey with you through healing. This ministry is a network of specially trained care givers, including priests, deacons, mental health professionals, medical professionals, and others who are interested in helping those recovering from abortions.

To take the first step . . .

Call the Office of Justice and Pastoral Outreach to receive a confidential, nonjudgemental referral to one or both of the following:

Priest/Clergy

To receive the pastoral support and compassion of your church and, if desired, God's healing grace through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If you wish, you can be put in touch with a priest outside your home parish or community.

Counselor

To sort out feelings and dea with unresolved issues in an individual or group setting.

What you can expect . . .

Project Rachel is a sensitive, private, and confidential experience. Your meeting with the priests will focus on preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and will include counseling, prayer, and scripture.

Project Rachel provides for you to receive the healing of God and, in a caring and hopeful setting, to move toward reconciliation with yourself, your unborn child, your Church, and your God.

Counseling is available with staff members from Catholic Charities or community therapists who have been trained to be part of Project Rachel.

How to begin your healing . . .

To initiate your participation in Project Rachel, you are asked to contact the Office of Justice and Pastoral Outreach for referral to a priest or counselor. Your contact can be by telephone or by letter.

The Office of Justice and Pastoral Outreach maintains a complete list of priests and counselors who have agreed to take part in Project Rachel and who have received special training for this program.

Project Rachel is a reconciliation and healing ministry that offers counseling and spiritual referral for men and women dealing with issues following an abortion. The office maintains a list of professional therapists, clergy and pastoral ministers who are trained in understanding post-abortion aftermath.
