Respect Life Collection, October, 2011
In 2005 Bishop Morlino asked for a special collection to be initiated during the beginning of October, Respect Life Month, to assist in efforts “to build a Culture of Life” and support “a network of safety and refuge, so that every woman in the Diocese of Madison would know of our care and concern.” The funds have been used to support Elizabeth House on Madison's east side, which provides a home for up to 12 young pregnant mothers along with a means to study, plan their futures, and learn parenting skills. In recent years, the fund has also supported the St. Hermine Home for the Destitute in Tamilnadu, India.
This coming year, we will maintain support for these worthy efforts and also strive to assist other local pro-life counseling centers to a greater degree. Thank you so very much for your generous support!
Vigil for Life: Fall 2011 Campaign Runs September 28 - November 1
Vigil for Life is pleased to continue with the 24/7 40 Days for Life campaign this fall at the Planned Parenthood on Madison's east side (3706 Orin Road). We are asking for your sacrifice to pray, fast and peacefully witness for an end to abortion. The Lord uses people keeping vigil and sidewalk counseling to save the lives of preborn babies and preserve the souls of abortion-minded men and women. Can you be one to stand for LIFE?
Nearly 2,000 hour-long prayer shifts need to be filled. To go to the Vigil for Life web site, Click Here. To schedule prayer slots, Click Here. If you encounter technical difficulties or want to schedule your hours over the phone, contact Laura Karlen at (608) 445-2064.
