Diocesan Services Appeal: How Funds are Allocated
Diocesan ministries are created to support and assist parishes in theirmission. One of the most effective ways to present to your parish the importance of diocesan church and the DSA is to help the parishioners understand the linkages that exist between your parish ministries and the diocesan ministries. Talk with the ministry leaders in your parish who have benefited from the diocesan ministries and have them share their experience with the rest of the parish.
You may find creating a bulletin board that displays a DSA poster and some of the benefiting ministries testimony vitalized with pictures and quotes a good way to share this information.
Some parishes use the bulletin to present on-going messages about specific linkages to the ministry and to the fact that the DSA supports these types of activities.
Other parishes have asked diocesan staff to speak at Masses so that people feel they have a personal contact with the Diocese. Sometimes putting a face and smile with a ministry can leave a lasting impact. If you are interested in having a diocesan staff person come speak at your parish please contact the Stewardship and Development Office.
