The Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation
The Catholic Diocese of Madison, established in 1946 has roots firmly planted far beyond the 60-year span of Diocesan existence. The Catholic people of south central and southwestern Wisconsin have courageously upheld the teachings of the Catholic Church for generations. In the early 1800s hard working immigrant families and clergy saw the importance of building strong communities of faith.
Through times of great challenge and great prosperity, the Diocese of Madison has continued to promote the mission of Jesus Christ. With a current population of nearly 270,000 Catholics in 11 counties, the challenges have changed but the response remains constant. We will continue to be a people called by Christ to love and serve in his name.
As our Diocese grows in size and need, it becomes clear that the work of the Church does not rest solely with priests and religious. Our gifts, though different from those of past generations, continue to be the bedrock for providing the spiritual and physical church with the gifts necessary to thrive and grow. We are a people cognoscente of the direct intervention God has in each of our daily lives, inspiring us by the Holy Spirit to help reach beyond ourselves and share what we have more fully.
Today, the Diocese is proud to provide a wonderful opportunity for people to work in cooperation with those inspirations to grow in faith and grace by becoming a member of The Catholic Diocese of Madison Foundation (CDMF).
The CDMF is ready to serve parishes, parish schools and parish members in the Diocese of Madison. The CDMF is introduced to assist all involved in promoting the works of Christ through responsible Christian stewardship for the preservation and promotion of the Catholic Church.
