The Baptism of your child is a wonderful occasion and a major step for you as parents, for you have accepted the joy and challenge of raising your child Catholic. Taking this responsibility seriously, St. Thomas Aquinas parish asks that parents prepare and educate themselves.
First, parent(s) wishing to have their child baptized at St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) normally need to be registered members of the parish. If you are not a member, please contact the Coordinator of Adult Formation, Jenny Ludtke, 833-2606 or Jennifer@stamadison.org before registering for baptism.
Second, parent(s) must complete a baptism preparation class before the baptism of their first child. It is not necessary to repeat the class for subsequent children. The parish normally offers baptism preparation at 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. To register for a class, please contact Jenny Ludtke. Note: If you attended a baptism preparation class at another parish, you must have that parish send a letter of verification to Jenny at the above address before you register your child for baptism here.
Finally, register to have your child baptized by completing this form in full and return it to the parish secretary, Mary Bailey by e-mail (parish@stamadison.org), by snail mail, or in person no later than 10 days before the baptism. We do not schedule the baptism until Mary receives the completed form. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
