Becoming a Catholic Christian

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process for welcoming new members into the Catholic family of faith. The RCIA was restored at Vatican II and is modeled on our most ancient Christian traditions of conversion and initiation. The process consists of four periods and a number of liturgical rituals that mark and celebrate the journey of faith.

Interested in sharing the love of your Catholic faith with these seeking adults? One way to do that is to be part of the planning team. The other way is to be a "parish sponsor" - someone who has a one-to-one relationship with one of the RCIA participants throughout the preparation process, helping them to make connections to the life and people of St. Thomas Aquinas parish.
