Faith Communities
St. Bernard's continues to encourage and create Small Faith Communities. Faith Communities are a way of bringing people together to support each other as Catholic Christians to live a Gospel lifestyle.
Small Faith Communities at St. Bernard's offer parishioners:
a) a sense of belonging
b) an opportunity to serve and to be served
c) a sense of identity as members of the Parish
Participating in small communities deepens a person's understanding of Church and enriches their involvement in weekend Masses.
Within the groups, parishioners reflect on the scriptures, share their faith, and make connections between the experiences of everyday living and how they live their faith.
Most groups consist of 6-12 people that meet six times in the fall and the six weeks of Lent. Groups meet with facilitators, and discussion guides are provided. The mutual support continues between the formal sessions.
Small Faith groups bring people together in prayer and support as we try to better understand what it means to live as Catholic in today’s world.
