The International Combined Collection started as a way to help several worthy and needy causes through one single appeal. Your support to this collection will support mission and ministry throughout the world! From building a chapel in the Fiji Islands, to evangelization efforts in Africa, or providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief, the impact of your gift reaches the most remote places of the world, where sometimes help is scarce.
With your help and that of others, we can make a difference in the lives of many. Below you will find information on the important causes this collection supports.
The Society for the Propagation of the Faith is one of the four Pontifical Mission Societies that annually celebrates World Mission Sunday (WMS). WMS recognizes our catholicity and universal solidarity with Christians over the world, and our common responsibility with regard to the evangelization of the world. How Does Your World Mission Sunday Gift Help? $20 can assist with building a chapel in the Fiji Islands. $40 can provide support for a catechist in Peru. $100 can support a sister in Kenya serving among homeless children. $1,000 can provide a home, food, medical help and education for orphans in Thailand. $3,500 can help support two girls’ homes in Sri Lanka. These funds are then distributed in their entirety to missions throughout the world as they share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This collection supports pastoral projects that enrich the lives of believers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. These are people who long to continue to build upon the traditions of their Catholic faith. In many instances, collected funds provide the only resources individual parishes have to sustain the development of their parishioners. Your gift helps with the formation of seminarians, religious sisters and brothers, and lay leaders serving the Church.
The Peter’s Pence collection is a gesture of solidarity through which every member of the faithful can participate in the activity of the Pope as Pastor of the universal Church. The faithful’s offerings to the Holy Father through the Peter’s Pence Collection are destined for Church needs, for humanitarian initiatives and social promotion projects, as well as for support for the Holy See.
For many in the Church of Central and Eastern Europe, the aftermath of 70 years of Soviet rule and atheism are still evident every day. This collection helps bring the light of Christ to the faithful affected by the darkness of war, violence, and loss of families and homes, and provides other essential funding in the region. Your support of this collection is a tangible way of assisting the Church’s response and outreach to those affected and displaced by violence.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) works at home and abroad to give aid to struggling, poor families. The six worldwide organizations supported by CRS provide immediate humanitarian aid, help obtaining asylum, pastoral support, and disaster relief to more than 100 million people who are most in need.
This collection provides the basic resources that the Church in Africa needs in its pastoral mission to deepen the faith of its people, evangelize its neighbors, strengthen its leadership and promote peace and justice. Support for this fund makes a real difference in the faith lives of individuals, families, and communities across Africa.
